Genuine Makita blade guard — part 453635-0. Direct replacement blade guard for the Makita LS1216 (LS1216, LS1216L and LS1216F), designed to restore the upper blade shielding and chip-deflection on 305 mm sliding compound mitre saws.
Molded, transparent guard shaped to clear a Ø305 mm saw blade (Makita specifies a 305 × 30 mm blade on these models), with factory-formed mounting points that align to the saw’s blade case and guard shaft so it fits without modification.
This part installs on the factory guard holder/shaft and works with the saw’s torsion spring mechanism; it’s shown as the replacement for older part 451198-0 in the LS1216 parts breakdown. Sold as the single replacement guard for the unit.
